PM Internship Scheme Eligibility:- The PM Internship scheme is an initiative launched by the central government of India to expose students to internships in 500 companies across the country. The applicants who want to apply for this scheme should meet the scheme’s eligibility criteria. The applicant should be a permanent resident of the country. The applicant has to belong to the age group of 21-24 years. The applicant cannot be a full-time employee or enrolled in a full-time course of study (although candidates in online or remote learning programs may still be qualified).

The applicant must hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a graduation degree such as a BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc., or have completed your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent. PM Internship Scheme Eligibility for Candidates

The PM Internship Scheme Eligibility for candidates is given below:- The applicant should be a permanent resident of the country of India. The applicant should belong to the age group of 21-24 years. Candidates participating in online or distant learning programs may apply; however, you must not be a full-time employee or student. You must possess a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a graduation degree such as a BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc., in addition to having completed your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent.

Education Qualifications

The applicant must hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a graduation degree such as a BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc., or have completed your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent.

Required Documents

Aadhaar card Educational certificates (Completion / final examination/assessment certificates will be considered). Recent passport-size photograph (optional). For other things, self-declaration shall suffice. No proof of documents is required.

Ineligibility Criteria

The applicant is not eligible for applying under this scheme if:- As of the application deadline, you are either younger than 21 or older than 24. You are presently working a full-time job or attending school full-time. Certain universities, such as National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, IIITs, and IITs, are among the ones from which you have graduated. You possess advanced degrees, including any master’s degree or higher (acknowledged by the UGC), as well as certifications like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, and PhD. Under a Central or State Government scheme, you are participating in any kind of skill development, apprenticeship, internship, or training program. Either the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) or the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) have already awarded you a finished apprenticeship. For the fiscal year 2023–2024, none of your family members will make less than ₹8 lakh. Your parents, husband, and yourself are all permanent/regular employees of the government (contract employees excepted). “Government” refers to the central, state, and local governments as well as the administrations of Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), statutory bodies, and local entities.

Criteria for Companies

The criteria for companies is given below:- The top 500 companies have been identified by the Ministry based on their average CSR expenditure of the last three years. If any company is not among these 500 selected ones, and still wants to provide internships can also participate, but they need an approval from Ministry of corporate affairs.

Benefits Of the PM Internship Scheme

The benefits of this scheme are given below:- The scheme will provide monthly assistance to the applicants, and about 5,000 rupees will be given to the interns for 12 months. A one-time grant for incidentals of 6,000 rupees will be disbursed to each intern by the government through direct benefit transfer, upon the interns joining at the internship location. The amount related to the training of the interns under this scheme would be given by the company through its CSR funds as per the extant rules. As covered under companies CSR policy rules 2014, up to 5% of the CSR expenditure incurred under this scheme may be booked as administrative costs by the company. The scheme will also provide insurance coverage to every intern under the insurance Schemes of the government of India.
